Framed Relief Earrings II

from $680.00
Sold Out

These uniquely detailed Framed Relief Earrings combine elements of both perfect and imperfect, permanence and impermanence. The inner surfaces have been removed to reveal organic textures laid with 24K gold.

They serve as a reminder of the hidden beauty within us and the ephemeral nature of our existence. Each piece is carefully finished and set by hand, combining gold and patterned patina to ensure a perfect finish while preserving the ultra-fine features and surface detailing.

Gold surfaces are created by fusing 24K yellow gold into the surface of fine silver. This ancient Korean gilding technique, known as keum-boo, is a slow process that requires high temperatures and pressure to create a permanent bond between pure gold and fine silver. The result is a thicker, more durable gold layer than approaches that use gold leaf or electroplating, such as vermeil.

Please reach out to discuss bespoke designs using different gemstones or materials.

Sterling silver, 24K gold keum-boo, and Australian sapphires totaling 0.1 carat.

38 x 17 x 2 mm

We pride ourselves on making unique jewelry. Please don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions about this piece, or variations including different materials, or setting with other gemstones.

This piece is made to order; please allow approximately three to four weeks.
